They’re cool and hip, talented and successful, and we’re not even talking about our fave designers, but rather the musicians wearing their True Fashionista creations. The ones rocking it onstage, online and in print for legions of adoring fans. You have to admit, its def one way to put a designer in the spotlight. Face it, when JLo accepts the Grammy in a stunning Chanel number, or when Pink performs in relative newcomer August Getty, the world notices, and said design house has increased their Instagram following by the thousands.
HISTORY OF HALSTON
Think Halston and do images of True Fashionista glitterati dancing the night away at Studio 54 fill your mind? Perhaps it’s images the many photos of stars of the day all hanging with the man himself, sporting his trademark sunglasses. Halston dressed and impressed them all for many years, and in the flashy 1970’s scene, his name was synonymous with both high fashion and high society.
SWEATERS AND HOW TO WEAR ‘EM
Whether you live in our home base of southwest Florida or the more temperate environs up north, there’s always a need for a sweater or two… or 10. As the situation warrants each season, some updating to the collection is in order, but a few of the favorites always seem to stand out for optimum True Fashionista snuggly warmth and fashion. It actually made us think about…pants! Either way, it’s good to know what to look for this year to go with your Madden Girls and Vejas.

Who doesn’t love a nice table? Its functionality as a place to put stuff is overshadowed only by the availability of unique designs and key placement possibilities to match and complement your décor. Every year it seems like fall and the holiday season make their appearance in stores earlier and earlier. Without fail, we’re still on August vacay, and Halloween costumes are hanging in windows and pumpkin spice flavoring has already found its way onto coffeehouse menus. However, we’re now well past Labor Day and there’s no denying it, fall is here. Granted, Fashion Week runways from New York, Milan, Paris and London were onto True Fashionista fall trends a good few months ago so we’re happy to share here the color trends that will taking over your closet this season. Have no fear, you have much to choose from that won’t look like your Thanksgiving table décor.
PAJAMAS AS DAYWEAR – YEAH IT’S A THING
What?! Pajamas that are totally acceptable to be worn in public? It’s a dream come true! Face it, this was bound to happen sooner or later with the rise of athleisure along with further reasons to chill inside like binging Netflix, social media and video games. Designers are out to reflect our habits and capitalize on them, cranking out comfy wear sleek enough to be seen in outside of the home and in your Instagram feed. Street-ready pajamas come in a variety of fabrics--from cotton all the way to high-end silk--that make it possible for True Fashionista pajama lovers to enjoy even more. Along with having a style for every consumer, the versatility of the pajama is another key component that makes this trend so easy to adopt.
OUTFITTING YOUR KITCHEN ISLAND
Its been discussed in various circles lately about the growing trend of the kitchen island becoming the new True Fashionista kitchen table. As our lives get busier, we tend to do our gathering round the island, conveniently located nearby the food prep. An island provides that in-out-and-on-your-way stopping point, its high counter placement and stools encouraging the mentality of a quick bite before racing out the door to start your day.
FALL/WINTER 2019 FASHION TRENDS
The return of street style as well as the instant documentation of it on social media has led to fashion heading from the runways to downtown at almost lightning speed, Vogue relays. Minis are heading even further up, while everything else is just getting…bigger. Yes, maximalism returns in major form this season. Into fur? Make sure those fibers are longer. Thinking about a new A-line skirt? Wider, baby. Colors? As bright as humanly possible, please. And those prints just better be spotted a mile away.
HISTORY OF VALENTINO GARAVANI
Valentino, birthname Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani (No wonder he dropped the other three names!) was born in Voghera, Italy May 11, 1932. Drawn to fashion design from a young age, he completed his formal training in Paris at École des Beaux-Arts and the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, while also apprenticing under local designers that included his aunt Rosa and the salons of Jean Dessès and Guy Laroche. After completing his education, Valentino returned to Italy to start his own line in Rome, as aforementioned, in 1959. The following year, he met Giancarlo Giammetti in Rome, an introduction that would change his life forever.
